"Knight Club" - I helped out TKA one more time as they did have color guard instructor. This show took on the theme of nightlife in a elegant and fun way. I've always wanted to do a concept like this. This was the most successful season for the color guard in TKA history, the entire ensemble won 1/2/3A Championships for WBA.
"Ghost Train Redux": I remained on staff at TKA for one more fall season in 2022. This season was the first time a first performance could'nt have been better. This later lead to a championship at WBA finals, marking the highest score a Div 1 program at ever received! Received many compliments from the judges and we really pushed the students physically and musically, and it payed off. We were so proud of what we created and how much growth the guard did. Having only 8 guard kids and earning one of the top scores for guard at WBA champs was not too shabby ;)
"Piano Cats": This was by far the most fun I had creating a winter guard show 😸I really went all into the concept and challenged myself to do a type of show I don't normally do. The kids had fun picking their own costumes and playing around with their purrsonas. Interestingly half of this ensemble is made of band kids with no prior guard experience. They earned 1st place at all circuit contests, ended with a silver medal at champs. The audiences and judges looked forward to our show making this both a successful and entertaining production.
"Shattered": I became TKA's guard director in the fall of 2021, and it was the best field season I ever had. We were undefeated in our class the whole season, consistently top 'Small Band' , beat numerous bigger ensembles, and placed top 5 in color guard at WBA Regional. All this having only 5 kids, three of which being in middle school. Both band and guard are a joy to work with.
